The Krk Island is yet another beautiful place on the coast of Croatia. It is 400 square kilometers in area and is second in terms of size. The population of this place is about 16,000 and krk itself is the capital of this island. It is also known as the Golden Island since ancient times. The beaches and the climate of this island make it a very good tourist stop.

Reaching krk is no hassle at all, as it is connected by all the means of travel like air, land and via sea. There is an airport at Rijeka and also a railway station. You can find trains running daily from Italy, Germany, Austria and Hungary. The varied landscape and culture is the most attracting thing of this island. The northern parts of Krk are bare due to the strong winds blowing in this area called bura. You can find inland, rocky hills and the southernmost part of the island is green and has bays.

Eschew the run-of-the-mill junket and have a sabbatical at the Island of Bisevo. Bisevo is a tiny island with cultural leanings in the south Dalmatian archipelago, 5 nautical miles southwest of the Vis Island covering approximately 6 sq km. With such a miniscule expanse and population of a petite 14 people, it has still made its mark and is noticeable for the alluring Blue Grotto. It is made up of limestone .
The Bisevo Island is besieged by around 26 sea caves among which Medvidina and Modra Spilja -The Blue Cave or the Blue Grotto, in the Balun cove stands out as one of the largest caves in the coast. It is also characterized by immaculately clear and clean sea. It is also known as Skuja na Zanje in the vernacular and local dialect. The cave is accessible since 1984 and it is approachable only by a boat. The only way to enter it is through diving. The ideal time to visit is between 11 and 12 in the mid noon owing to its location and entrance. Or else, it would be pointless to visit it until the sunrays hits it.

You can navigate the boat around the tiny Islet according to your discretion and halt to take a bath in the hidden coves.

There is a bigger adventure and euphoria of catching the fishes in the waters of the Island Bisevo. You can find a small haven with a pier for fishing boats on the Island of Bisevo. And last but not the least relish the obligatory lunch of fish! One of the downsides of the Island Bisevo is non-availability of accommodation.

Nevertheless, Bisevo Island is one of the pristine tiny and bantam islands in Croatia.
